Registration is Open for 2025!
RACE DATE: OCTOBER 12!
And the price on opening day? Once again, it’s JUST $55!!! And, what’s more, if you’re a member of NewRo Runners you get $10 off! (If you want, you can join the club at the time you register.)
And for that modest $55, you get a shirt, medal, real food, live music, massages, photos, 200 volunteers and one geezer in olde-time clothing firing a musket!
And me! You get me! Whether you like it or not! (Mrs. Grand Poobah says I need to be returned, or she’ll be stuck putting race stuff away.)
Plus, you get a spectacular 13-mile loop through the woods. There’s that. I shouldn’t forget that.
As Pink Floyd wrote about this race, in sparkling and captivating prose:
Run, run, run, run
Run, run, run, run
Run, run, run, run
Run, run, run, run
With that in mind, I have three bullet points that I insist need numbering, and which you MUST read to the end:
1. Registration is now open! For one of the great trail races this side of the Mississippi! About 90% of this course is in the cool shade of the trees, just four short train stops from midtown Manhattan!
Is the race any damn good? Don’t take my word for it, hundreds signed up a full year in advance in the brief open registration period after last year’s race. But if you want my completely unbiased opinion as race founder/director/Grand Poobah, it’s not only awesome, but something you can legitimately beat Chuck Norris at! (Maybe. He’s 85, so close call. And I beg you not to tell him I wrote that.)
2. Paine to Pain is part of the Trail Mix Series!! Read all about it at that link and check out the other great trail races in the Westchester and southern Connecticut area:
April 27th – Leatherman’s Loop 10K (filled)
May 18 – Spring Run the Farm 5M
September 14 – Where the Pavement Ends 4.25M
October 19 – Run the Farm Fall 5M
November 9 - Raven Rocks 10K
3. Word of mouth is our main form of marketing. We’d rather you tell your friends about this than pay advertisers for it. This helps keep the race affordable. (I hope that hint wasn’t too subtle.)
And thank you to last year’s top tier sponsors, without whom this race wouldn’t exist as is:
§ Breaking the Tape Productions, LLC
§ Finish Line Physical Therapy
§ The ACME Anvil Co. (This Roadrunner joke is a test to see if you read to the end.)
